Company Name/ Art Name:
StabHive
Description of Artwork:
My work combines traditional illustration with natural history and preserved specimens to create art that feels equal parts science, curiosity cabinet, and fantasy. I create original bug illustrations, stickers, shadow boxes, and framed specimen displays using ethically sourced insects, botanicals, bones, and other natural materials purchased from reputable suppliers. Every design begins with careful observation of real species before being reimagined through my own artistic style. Whether it’s a realistic beetle, a cute isopod, or a preserved butterfly, my goal is to highlight the incredible diversity of the natural world while making it approachable, educational, and just a little weird.
Artist Biography:
StabHive is the creative home of artist Crissi Pattillo, where natural history meets gothic whimsy. Inspired by insects, bones, fungi, botanicals, and all the wonderfully strange things nature has to offer, Crissi creates artwork that invites curiosity instead of fear. What began as a fascination with the overlooked corners of the natural world has grown into a collection of original illustrations, preserved specimens, and handcrafted oddities that celebrate beauty in the unusual. Every piece is made with the hope that someone leaves seeing bugs—and nature itself—a little differently.
