My work begins with building texture — layering found objects, natural elements, and unexpected materials onto the surface. I then paint over it in acrylics, letting color flow across raised edges, uniting the forms into a cohesive whole. This creates a sense of depth and movement inviting the viewer to not only look, but almost feel the work.
Artist Biography:
I’m Emmy Garoutte, a mixed media and acrylic artist. Inspired by the colors, textures, and patterns of nature, I create layered works that capture the beauty and complexity of the landscapes around me. I hold a Fine Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma and years of experience as an art teacher, which keeps me constantly exploring new techniques and ideas while sharing the joy of creativity with others.
