Almademarlo | Marissa Loera
Artist Name:
Marissa Loera
Description of Artwork:
You can go out and buy any hi-gloss paper from the paper you print pictures on to the 50¢ poster board as long as there is a smooth shiny surface. You can use any acrylic/multi-surface spray paint. Be aware that some spray paints won’t work well with each other so it’s best to use the same brand. I always sketch out what I would want the scenery to look like and the color scheme I would want to use. Depending on what I’m planning on painting I do have to make my own stencils. I then place any stencil I have on the paper with a heavy weight on top of it and use a light color paint to spray over the stencils and then I take the stencil off and proceed to spray paint. If I am painting planets I use magazine pages or new paper pages to give them a texture. Between each layer, I use a lighter and a clear spray to help the drying process go faster. Please make sure you are doing this in an open space!
Artist Biography:
It all started when I came across a Sketch Art YouTube video. I watched hours of this guy spray painting these amazing sceneries. That alone inspired me to go out and buy an unbelievable amount of spray paint cans and any material that I needed. The more I practiced I knew there was more I needed to learn. So I joined art courses at Midland College (shout out to Professor Sherman) and from there I was able to learn not only the basics but that there was more to just what I was doing. I learned a lot about screen printing which immediately became my absolute favorite medium!Website/Social Media:
