My art involves dark imagery and abstract surrealism. My inspiration stems from apps like Instagram and art books like Francis Bacon. I gather imagery like a collage and put them how I see fit. My oil paintings can be taken anywhere from 1 day to a month, maybe even longer due to my emotions towards each painting I do.
Artist Biography:
You can go out and buy any hi-gloss paper from the paper you print pictures on to the 50¢ poster board as long as there is a smooth shiny surface. You can use any acrylic/ multi surface spray paint. Be aware that some spray paints won’t work well with each other so it’s best to use the same brand. I always sketch out what I would want the scenery to look like and color scheme I would want to use. Depending on what I’m planning on painting I do have to make my own stencils. I then place any stencil I have on the paper with a heavy weight on top of it and use a light color paint to spray over the stencils and then I take the stencil off and proceed to spray paint. If I am paint planets I use magazine pages or new paper pages to give them a texture. Between each layer I use a lighter and a clear spray to help the drying process go by faster. Please make sure you are doing this in an open space!
