The Midland Art Crawl returns on Friday with its theme Harvest & Haze Fall Crawl, featuring local artists, original art, music, and more family-friendly activities to enjoy.
The Midland Art Crawl returns to Tall City quarterly, celebrating the local art scene. The event is free and open to the public and is hosted at six different venues across town. Each venue offers different activities for the public, ranging from open microphone events to craft-making and drink specials.
All venues will have artists onsite, with their artwork for sale. All locations are family-friendly, except for The Blue Door, which requires patrons to be 21 years old and over.
The Harvest and Haze Fall Crawl is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. There is no specific order to visit each venue, so participants can crawl as they please.
Cotton Flat Records
Cotton Flat Records will feature five different artists including Jeremy McGraw, Ashley Neptune, Emmy Garoutte, Katrina Gorman and Ivan Sandoval. The venue will host a singer/songwriter open mic, featuring local performing artists. There will also be an aerial/fire performance by Ashley Neptune.
Leyenda Coffee & Tequila
Leyenda Coffee & Tequila will feature artists Rachel Ramirez of Cactus Crown Studios and Richard Acosta. The restaurant will be launching their seasonal fall menu, including the new coquito latte.
The FaFa Gallery
The Midland Arts Association Annual Show will take place at the The FaFa Gallery, featuring a gallery of art by the association’s members. Crawlers will have the chance to vote for their favorite art piece at the event. There will also be complimentary refreshments onsite.
Velvet Mesquite Designs
Velvet Mesquite Designs will feature artists Ellen Choate and Jamie Grimes. The venue will offer a build-your-own fall bouquet for visitors to participate in. There will also be complimentary drinks for visitors. Velvet Mesquite is located at 3211 W. Wadley Ave.
The Waystone
The Waystone will feature artist Silvia Casas and Rachel Shanks. The brewery will debut the Wayfest Bier on tap and will also have craft sodas and wine available for purchase.
The Blue Door
The Blue Door will feature artists Jessica Van Deburgh and Marissa Loera. The bar will be launching its fall seasonal cocktail menu. Guests can also enjoy charcuterie by Hashbrowns and High Hopes and live music by The Piano Room. Only patrons 21 and older can attend the event. The venue is also dog friendly. Guests can enjoy live music, craft brews and food truck flavors onsite.
